Why we started this blog

Hello! Welcome to our blog which is dedicated to our son-to-be. We live in the beautiful Denver area of the western U.S. We have always wanted children but have not had the opportunity to have any ourselves. After many years of research and planning, we have been finally matched with a child of our dreams! We are so excited to bring John home this summer (2012). This blog is dedicated to helping us achieve this reality. Thank you for your support!

Dear friends, family, and anyone else who is sympathetic with adoption, we really need some help. Our total adoption costs are adding up to over $29,000. We have come up with $22,000 and need to come up with the balance before we can travel in July. Anything you can do to help would be much appreciated.

Help us bring John home!

As you probably know, the adoption process can be quite complex and also frustrating at times.  We have been pursuing an adoption for many years.  After a lot of different pathways, we have finally found the one that we think will finally work for us.  We are so excited to announce that we are in the process of adopting a wonderful boy from China with special needs, named Chun Bai, whom we plan to call John.  John is 10 years old and has albinism and associated vision problems. If all goes well, we are very excited about traveling to China to get him, hopefully in late summer of this year.   One of the challenges of adopting overseas is the financial burden.  We have started a fundraising effort in the hopes that we might be able to make the last money to bring John home from the orphanage where he has lived for the past 10 years.

We have an arrangement with a the company called Just Love Coffee which will give us a percentage of their sales through "our" page on their site to help fund our adoption.  We have tried and enjoyed their coffee.  They also sell hot chocolate and gift items.  We invite you to take a look and see if you would like to buy anything while also helping us with our adoption.  If any of you coffee lovers wish to buy their coffee and benefit us, please call them and say that you want to benefit adoptingjohn because their system is not crediting us when it is purchased online.
